Police say noise complainer took concerns too far

Sarnia Police Service say a tenant in the 300 block of Nelson Street took concerns over noise coming from another tenant too far, allegedly threatening his fellow tenant with a knife.

A 61-year-old man has been charged with assault with a weapon in the incident, which occurred Tuesday (Nov. 6) at 5:15 p.m.

Police say the complainant allegedly tried to force his way in to the noise-maker's apartment while brandishing a four-inch folding knife. The victim was able to close the door on the man's arm, causing the knife to drop. With the assistance of another tenant, the man was removed from the door and police were called.

There were no injuries in the incident and the accused is in police custody awaiting a bail hearing, which is scheduled for later today (Wednesday).
