Peacefully, surrounded by loving family, on Sunday, January 7, 2018, at Vision Nursing Home, John Everett Quaid passed away at the age of 90. Beloved husband of Evelyn Irene Quaid (nee Bogie) for 67 years. Loving father of Elizabeth (Ronald) Taylor, Robert Quaid (Ann Sutton), Donna (Keith) Blue, and Shirley (John) Kelley. Cherished grandfather of Darryl (Kirsten) Kelley, Kari (Cory) St. Jean, Brian Sutton-Quaid (Janet Lapierre), Colin Sutton-Quaid (Anna), Melanie (Jeff) Holding, James Blue (Shauna Fenton), and Evelyn Taylor. Treasured great-grandfather of five. Dear brother of Mildred Montgomery (Robert Clarke), and Kenneth (Jessie) Quaid. Predeceased by his parents R. Wilfred and Margaret Quaid and sisters Mabel Westlake, Helen Dickson, Anne Anderson, and Marion Quaid. John was a retired employee of Cabot Canada and a longtime member at High Park United Church. In his past, John enjoyed being a member of the Swinging 8’s Square Dance Club and Shiloh Buckles and Bows – Square Dance Club. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him. Family and friends will be received at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Sunday, January 14, 2018, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Smith Funeral Home on Monday, January 15, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation held one hour prior.
