Reid Boucher signs with Sting

Sarnia Sting Head Coach and General Manager Jacques Beaulieu announced today that the hockey club has signed forward Reid Boucher to an OHL Contract and Education Package.

“This caps off a great week for our hockey club.  First to be able to sign Connor Murphy and now to add a player the caliber of Reid is very exciting for us.  Reid is a pure goal scorer and a big game player who played some of his best hockey in leading his country to a Gold Medal at the Under-18 World Championships.” commented Beaulieu.
Boucher was a 4th round pick of the New Jersey Devils at the 2011 NHL Entry Draft this past June in Minneapolis.
The Lansing, Michigan native, scored 81 goals in the past two season with the American National Development program, including 54 goals last season.
He had eight goals and two assists in just six games to lead Team USA to the gold medal at the World Under 18 Hockey Championships in Germany in April.
Boucher is the fourth member of the championship team to spun the U.S. College route for the Ontario Hockey League.  The others include Connor Murphy (Sarnia Sting), John Gibson (Kitchener Rangers) and JT Miller (Plymouth Whalers)
