Sarnia firefighters respond to noon hour fire, destroyed shed and damaged two homes

Sarnia Fire and Rescue responded to a shed fire in the 500 block of Chantal Court, near the corner of Bedford Crescent in Sarnia's east side at 12:14 p.m. Tuesday. 15 firefighters from three stations converged and arrived on the scene within minutes to find lots of smoke coming from a shed on fire in the backyard of a house on Chantel Court. Firefighters were able to successfully stifle and put out the blaze. Authorities said the shed and a wooden fence were destroyed by the fire and there was heat damage to the siding of two homes. The exact cause of the fire could not be found and is officially listed as undetermined. Damage to the shed, fence and the siding of the two houses is believed to be $35,000. No injuries were reported.
