Sarnia Police looking for help in identifying suspect in computer theft case

computer theft suspect

Sarnia Police say they are seeking a man who is alleged to have stolen a computer from a business in the 1300 block of Exmouth Street on Tuesday (Jan. 15).

The man (pictured from security footage released by Sarnia Police) is described as being 25-30 years of age, 5’ 8” to 5’ 10” tall, slim build, short hair, wearing a black ball cap backwards, blue jeans, black running shoes and a gray t shirt under a gray hoodie with a white logo on the left breast.

Police say the man entered the business just before 7:30 p.m. and removed two boxes from an aisle display.  The suspect then carried the boxes to the front doors and attempted to leave.  The electronic doors opened but just after the suspect dropped one of the boxes.  The man is said to have eventually left the store with one of the boxes which contained a $450 computer tower. He was last observed by store security westbound from that location and the police were called.

Sarnia Police are asking anyone with information about the man pictured to call them (519) 344-8861 or Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-8477.
