Sarnia Police report busy night for one officer

An individual Sarnia Police officer had a busy Thursday night with three separate arrests being made, both involving drugs or drug paraphernalia.

In the first incident, which occurred around 9 p.m., the officer saw what he believed to be a drug transaction taking place in the London and Murphy Road area of the city. The two persons involved left in two separate vehicles and the officer was able to stop one of the vehicles, in which there were three men.

One of the men, a 40-year-old passenger, was recognized as being wanted on outstanding Breach of Probation and Drug warrants from Lambton OPP and was arrested. He is being held for a bail hearing. A 22-year-old male passenger was found to have a prohibited knife on his possession and was cautioned and the knife seized.

Later during the officer’s shift, around 1 a.m., he saw two females leave from a residence in the 500 block of London Road in a taxi cab. The officer believed one of the individuals to be on conditions from a previous conviction. The 18 year old, from Sarnia, initially identified herself by a different name. She was arrested for Public Mischief and a search revealed she had drug paraphernalia on her possession. The young lay was on a bail condition to observe a curfew and on two separate Probation Orders one of which states not to possess drug paraphernalia.

She was held for a bail hearing and will face charges of Public Mischief, Fail to Comply with Bail Conditions and three counts of Fail to Comply with Probation Order.
