Sarnia Police say cyclist hit by vehicle was not equipped with light

Sarnia Police say the lack of a bicycle light contributed to a 27-year-old cyclist from Sarnia being hit by a vehicle Sunday night (Dec. 23) around 8:15.

The incident, which occurred on Indian Road South near Hickory Drive, involved a vehicle being driven by an 80-year-old Sarnia man.

The cyclist was taken to hospital by ambulance and treated for minor injuries. The vehicle involved required towing from the scene.

The driver of the vehicle was uninjured.

Police say officers interviewed witnesses to the incident before a decision to issue the Provincial Offence Notice, which carries a fine of $35.
