Sarnia Police say man accused of pointing gun at landlord has been charged

Sarnia Police say they have arrested 33-year-old Peter Jonathon Banks of Sarnia, charging him with pointing a firearm, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public, and assault with a weapon.

Banks is accused of having pointed the gun, which turned out to be a pellet gun. According to police, the pellet gun looked very much like a real handgun.

The incident, which occurred on Nov. 13, allegedly involved Banks having an altercation with his landlord, who is said to have called police.

Police later executed a search warrant of Banks' apartment, during which time they say they found the pellet gun.

The accused is scheduled for a bail hearing on Nov. 15.
