Sarnia Sting to play Kitchener Rangers tonight

Rare Wednesday game is at Sarnia Sports and Entertainment Centre

The Sarnia Sting will face two rivals in the next three days, beginning with their match against the Kitchener Rangers tonight (Wednesday) at the Sarnia Sports and Entertainment Centre.

The Sting will also host the Erie Otters on Friday. Both games begin with a puck drop at 7:05 p.m. On Sunday, the Sting travel to London to play the Knights in an afternoon contest that begins at 2 p.m.

The team is coming off a successful three-for-three weekend in which they beat Flint (both in Sarnia and in Flint), followed by a win against Windsor in the Spitfires home territory.

From this week’s Sarnia Sting’s “Primer”:

Travis Konecny: Konecny added 3 goals and 3 assists in 3GP to his team-high 66 points on the year. Since joining the Sting, Konecny has 21 points in 12 GP and is a +8 over that stretch.

Pavel Zacha: Zacha had 2G, 2A over the weekend. With 21 goals on the season, Zacha leads all Sting skaters.

Jakob Chychrun: Chychrun participated in the BMO Top Prospects game on Thursday night as the Captain of Team Cherry. In 2 games played with the Sting after returning on Friday night, Chychrun tallied 1G and 2A in two games played this weekend. The draft-eligible defenceman now has 32 points on the year.

Charlie Graham: After going 2-0-0-0 last weekend, Graham improved to 5-1-0-0 since joining the Sting. He turned aside 34/37 on Friday night and then stopped all 21 to earn the shutout in Windsor on Sunday afternoon.

Sam Studnicka: After being named Captain on Saturday afternoon, Studnicka notched his 100th career OHL point with a goal that night. Studnicka now has 19 goals on the season.

Jordan Kyrou: Kyrou had 2 assists in the BMO Top prospects game on Thursday night. In 2 games played with the Sting last weekend, the draft-eligible winger registered 3G; giving him 12 on the campaign.
