Shopping at Goodwill may be cheap, but not free

Sarnia Police say they have arrested and charged a 42-year-old city woman who allegedly stole items left for donation in front of a Goodwill store on Oct. 25.

In a media release, police say signs clearly advising that items left in front of the store are the property of Goodwill. An investigation involving review of video surveillance is said to have lead them to the suspect, who was arrested on Nov. 3.

The woman faces charges of theft under $5,000. She was released on a promise to appear and will make her first appearance later this month.
