Shots fired in Wyoming, man injured, suspect being sought after chase

Lambton OPP say a 7 p.m. altercation at an Erie Street, Wyoming, address yesterday (Feb. 28) resulted in one man being sent to hospital after a gunshot wound.

Three suspects fled the scene in a newer model SUV, heading east on Highway 402 near Nauvoo Road but were stopped through use of a tire deflation device in the area of Longwoods Road in Middlesex County.

Two of the three were apprehended after they fled on foot. Police are continuing to seek the third suspect, who is described as a white male with short, dark hair, wearing a dark hoodie and a barbwire tattoo around his neck.

The area has been contained by officers from Lambton and Middlesex OPP as well as Canine, Tactical Response Unit and Emergency Response Team officers. Police say officers from Strathroy-Caradoc Police and London Police Service are assisting in the search for the suspect, believed to be armed and dangerous.

Eastbound Highway 402 traffic in the area of Longwoods Road has been closed while the search is being carried out.

Police are advising residents in the area to remain indoors with doors locked.
