Peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, February 16, 2018 at C.E.E. Hospital of Bluewater Health, Petrolia, June Marie Simard (nee Napper) passed away in her 86th year. Beloved wife of the late Archie Simard (2010). Loving mother to the late Julie Marie (Lovegrove) Simard (March 23, 1974 in her 22nd year), Jan (Ron) McFarlane, Tom (Linda) Simard, Bob (Brenda) Simard, Mark (Kathy) Simard and Judy (Rob) Moore. Cherished grandma to Nikki (Trevor) Kreeft, Cindy (Colin) Duthie, Jenny (Bryan) Simpson, Chantelle (Nick) Core, Greg Simard, Bobby Simard, Brandi Simard, Sarah (Billy) Harrington, Miranda Loxton, Joel Simard, Danielle Simard, Rick Hyatt, the late Kristy Hyatt (1996), Emily (Dylan Fraser) Moore, Josh Moore and Ashley Moore. Great grandma to Maddison, Benett, Ella, Julia, Dylan, Jack, Nora, Dean, Nash, Isla, Colton and Mac. Survived by her loving siblings, Betty Wagner and Earl Napper. Predeceased by her parents Fred Lorne (1945) and Hazel Laura (nee Brown, 1960) Napper and her father and mother-in-law Delisca (1977) and Marie (nee Dupuis, 1986) Simard, and her siblings, Lorne Orin (Abe) Napper, Thomas “Charles” (Jean) Napper, Raymond Napper, Ruby (Bert) Fraser, Gordon Lyle Napper, Doris (Jim) Healey, Inez Wagner, Norma Napper and Shirley (Manley) McLachlin. June will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and her card playing buddies at Kings Court. June’s strength and sense of humour, especially in the hospital, was a constant source of comfort to everyone. Even in her last days, her selflessness of character the lightness of her heart and humour, shone brightly. Visitors will be received by the family on Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. at the Needham-Jay Funeral Home, 4059 Petrolia Line, Petrolia where a funeral service will take place on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at 11 a.m. The family would like to thank Dr. Butler and the nurses and doctors on call in emerge at C.E.E. Hospital for their loving care of our mom and to Earl Napper, Julie McVicar, Betty Roane and Judy Goodacre for their extra love, care and dedication.
