St. Francis Advocates is hosting its 12th annual golf tournament on Tuesday, June 22 and Jay Peckham, the organization’s administrative coordinator (as well as a well-known Sarnia area theatre “personality”) could use a little help.
Peckham is specifically looking to attract golfers for the charitable event, as well as sponsors and donors.
St. Francis will use the funds raised to assist with new and existing community activities for its clients. One example is an annual camping trip it hosts to Erieau Beach.
The opportunities available to help the organization around its golf tournament (which will take place at Widder Station Golf & Country Club in Thedford) include taking part as a golfer in the event, being a sponsor, donating a prize or auction item (larger single items), or donating golfer gifts (bigger quantities of smaller items).
Peckham says volunteers are also needed for the day of the event.
An individual $110 fee for golf includes 18 holes, golf cart, and buffet dinner. Cost for a team is $440 and a corporate package (four golfers, one hole sign, and a program advertisement) is $500.
The event is a four-person scramble with a shot-gun start at 10 a.m. and dinner at 3 p.m.
There are raffles, a 50/50 draw and prizes, including one for the best-dressed team at this “rain or shine” event.
Detailed information on registration, sponsorship, donations or volunteering is available by emailing [email protected].
The event also has a Facebook page, which can be found HERE.
A deadline of June 15, 2018 has been set for registrations, donations and sponsorships.
Peckham asks that anyone needing a pickup of a donation to call (519) 828-3923, ext. 26 or the [email protected] email.
In the meantime, he is delivering an “advance” thank you:
“On behalf of the people we support, personnel and our board of directors, we wish to express our gratitude in advance of your contribution in assisting us with Making a Difference!”
