St. Joseph’s Hospice looking for volunteers for two new programs

st joseph hospiceSt. Joseph's Hospice of Sarnia-Lambton is reaching out to fulfill an ongoing need for volunteers for its new in-home support and day hospice programs.

Holly Watson, the organization's Living Life Well program coordinator, says the two orientation sessions—one on Jan. 25, another on Feb. 1—will both run from 9 a.m. to noon and will be held at the hospice building at 475 N. Christina St., Sarnia.

The goal of the orientation is to introduce new individuals to the mission, vision and values of St. Joseph’s Hospice and educate interested persons on all the various volunteer roles within Hospice.

Individuals who are new to volunteering will learn about the history of Hospice Palliative Care, the scope and boundaries of volunteering as well as the policies of the organization.  Attendance is required in order to volunteer with St. Joseph’s Hospice.
