Sting road trip continues on Friday

The Sarnia Sting continued a four game road trip with a loss on Thursday against the Guelph Storm following a 10-day holiday break.

The Sting will wrap up the road trip on Friday evening in London as they face off against the Knights for the first of two straight matchups between the teams. The Sting return home to host the Knights for the second tilt on New Year’s Day. Puck drop is at 2:05 p.m.


Adam Ruzicka: Ruzicka is currently tied for 3rd in the rookie scoring race with 22 points through 32 games and is just 2 points behind the leader. He is currently representing Slovakia at the World Junior Championship.

Jordan Kyrou: Kyrou currently leads the Sting with 40 points through 32 games. He is currently riding a 4 game points streak where he has amassed 6 points.

Anthony Salinitri

Anthony Salinitri: Salinitri continues to open scoring for the Sting, as he new leads the league in first goals with 7. He most recently opened the scoring in a 6-0 victory over the spirit, en route to his second hat-trick of the season.

Ryan McGregor: McGregor has found his scoring touch as of late, scoring in 4 of his last 6 games. He has 10 goals in 31 games this season.

LDN Players to Watch:

JJ Piccinich: Piccinich, a 4th round draft pick of the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2014, is having a career year in his second OHL season, putting up 38 points in 30 games thus far. He is currently tied for 3rd among league leaders in PPG’s with 8.

Victor Mete: Victor Mete was selected in the 4th round of the 2016 NHL Entry Draft by the Montreal Canadiens. The 3rd year defenceman has registered 26 points in 29 games this year, and is tied for 5th among league leaders in plus/minus with a +24.
