STOBBS division Junior C Hockey Wrap

Wallaceburg continues to struggle while Lakeshore sits at top of leader board

STOBBS Division hockey action is heating up heading to Christmas break

Jr C Hockey is great action for those looking to break into the A leagues with The Sarnia Legionnaires or the Chatham Maroons.  And with the Christmas break only days away things are heating up as teams look to put points on the board before Dec. 23 which will be the last game before Christmas.

Wednesday night the Petrolia Flyers were all over the struggling hometown Wallaceburg Lakers.  Pounding the Lakers 9-1.  Wallaceburg has only mustered four points so far this year, while Petrolia is right in the middle of the standings. Cole MacKinnon and Hunter Bryce would each get a pair for Petrolia.

Petrolia would get no rest as they played Mooretown at home and would end up losing to the Flags in a tight game 4-3.  Petrolia out shot Mooretown but could not capitalise on the power play.  Joe Correia would get the game winner for Mooretown in the second period.

Friday night Number 1 Lakeshore hosted the Blenheim Blades and the Canadiens kept their number one status downing the Blades 3-1.  Things were very even going into the third period but two goals by the Canadiens put the win in the books for Lakeshore.

Friday would continue to be a night for the hometown teams as the Dresden Jr Kings hosted the Wheatley Sharks.  A penalty filled 2nd period saw 6 penalties handed with each team having 3 players go to the box.  Wheatley started the scoring off in the 1st period but 3 unanswered Dresden goals in the 2nd and 2 more in the 3rd would seal the deal and give the Jr Kings the win. Brantley Kuipers put one in the net unassisted.

This weekend has more great hockey action as tonight the Amherstburg Admirals host the Essex 73’s, while Wheatley is in Mooretown to face the Flags.

Sunday night will see the Admirals host the Canadiens and the Blenheim Blades entertaining Essex.  Monday Wheatley is at home to Petrolia.
