Suspect in convenience store robbery quickly nabbed by Sarnia Police

A robbery of a convenience store in the area of Wellington and East streets on Saturday (Nov. 29) has left a man, so far unidentified, in jail, say Sarnia Police.

The incident, which occurred shortly before 3 p.m., involved a man, armed with a knife and with his face concealed, entering the convenience store. He is said to have confronted the clerk with a knife and had the clerk turn over an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes.

The suspect departed the store on foot, and was arrested by police shortly thereafter one block away.

There were no injuries as a result of this incident, and all property was recovered.
