Tepperman’s will relocate to former Zeller’s Plaza

Move expected to take place in 2018

Tepperman’s, a regional five-store home furnishings retailer that’s been doing business in Sarnia for nearly 20 years, has announced plans to expand its presence, moving into new space in the former Zeller’s Plaza at 1249 London Road.

The move won’t take place until the first half of 2018 but Tepperman’s already has a template for the new store, a 38,000 square foot version of its Kitchener store, which opened on July 12.

Included in the design is a “Bargain Annex,” a “store-within-a-store” store. That addition was not possible within the confines of the current Tepperman’s store, which is on the north side of Lambton Mall, entering off Exmouth Street.

Tepperman’s says it is working with Lucror Property in building the new store, which will incorporate elements of an environmentally sustainable operation, one of the company’s guiding principles.

The new store, the company said in a news release, will include a covered customer drive-through pick-up area, and an in-store coffee and beverage bar.

“This new location allows us to take the retail shopping experience to the next level,” said CEO Andrew Tepperman, who represents a third generation of the Tepperman family, which is headquartered in Windsor.
