The Show with David Burrows for July 4, 2013.

This week’s episode of The Show with David Burrows has something for everyone as David offers up some great features about Canada Day and a myriad of top musical entertainment that headlined the day from Point Edward to Sarnia to Bright’s Grove.

David hosted the Jun. 30 pre-Canada Day celebrations at Point Edward’s Canatara Park and was able to snag an exclusive interview with Canadian music icon, none other than Barenaked Ladies founding member Steven Page. Page was on hand for the evening to showcase his highly successful solo project material, performing in front of thousands of fans in the park.

David started off his birthday – also known as Canada Day to the rest of us – making his debut in the annual Canada Day Parade on a colorful and entertaining float to promote INDIEFEST and The Show. It was no surprise that his float – flanked by musical performers, friends and family – won 3rd place in this year’s contest that determines by vote the best floats of the parade.

This week’s video footage from Canatara Park’s musical lineup includes, besides the epic Steven Page, regional favorites Rumble Fish and 3rd Wave – who recently won the regional UNDER THE COVERS and competed in a final four battle of the bands at London’s Norma Jean’s for the chance to open up the annual Rock The Park event on Jul. 27.  Also included is interviews and footage with other local favorites Steadfast and INDIEFEST alumni Leigh Coltman.

As well, David talks about INDIEFEST (Part 5) that’s slated for Jul. 13 and will feature indie rock juggernauts Dream Aria, Alyeus and Autocratic Oath.

This week, David also sends out special mentions to the folks around him that help make everything he does possible; those people and business partners, this week, includes Preferred Towing, Tammy & Gary Vandenheuvel, Colin Vandenheuvel, Armin Teige, Jennifer Moons, Jason Burrows, Chelsea Kukura, Erik Sit & Sara Campbell.

Finally and as viewers have come to expect from The Show, David talks about what’s happening now and what’s coming up around the region, offering up more exciting news and announcements.
