Toastmasters club is hosting open house next week

Wednesday, October 9 event at Landmark Village will feature guest speaker

A local club representing one of the world’s most successful organizations designed to improve communication skills is holding open house organizers hope will inspire new members to consider joining.

Jale Fancey, an author and currently vice president of public relations at Riverspeak Toastmasters, will serve as “Table Topics” master, a role that sees guess and members randomly selected to speak for one or two minutes as part of a standard Toastmasters format well-recognized as helping develop the skills known to increase professional skills in any workplace.

Current president Pierre Houle comments that the club is committed to providing “a supportive and positive environment where members have the opportunity to develop their communication and leadership skills.”

Wednesday’s event, which will take place at Landmark Village (1370 L’Heritage Dr., Sarnia) will begin at 7 p.m. and run through 9 p.m., is featuring guest speaker Julie Whitley, a member of the Hospitable Toastmasters club, which also meets in Sarnia.
