Traffic stop on Walpole Island leads to numerous charges

Walpole Island police have charged two men from Wallaceburg and a third from Walpole Island with a variety of counts following a traffic stop on Chiefs Road on Walpole Island just after 9 pm on Wednesday.

Police say during a search of the vehicle they seized suspected drugs, a Remington shotgun and two boxes of ammunition
25 year old Michael Authier and 24 year old Robert Daniels both from Wallaceburg and 26 year old Kyle Day from Walpole Island are facing charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm,Occupant of Motor Vehicle Knowing there was a Firearm and, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5000
Police say Authier is facing additional charges of:  Carrying a Concealed Weapon and Failing to Abide by a Court Order and Daniels is facing an additional charge of Possession of a Firearm while Prohibited.
The three will appear in a Sarnia court at a later date to answer to the charges.
