Traffic stops lead to drug charges

Lambton OPP say two traffic stops, the first on Dec. 28 and one on New Year's Day, resulted in various drug charges.

On Dec. 28 at around 11:30 p.m., officers stopped a GMC truck on Rokeby Line in the area of Fairweather Road. They discovered assorted drug paraphernalia and a quantity of suspected Oxycodone. A 32-year-old Oil Springs woman and a 39-year-old Courtright man face charges of possession of a controlled substance. The woman faces two further charges of failure to abide by a court order.

Two hours into 2012, OPP stopped a Chevrolet van on Townsend Line east of Forest, resulting in a 20-year-old Thedford man being charged with possession of a controlled substance. In that incident, a 26-year-old woman, also from Thedford, was charged with having open alcohol in the vehicle.
