Trouble on Bright Street no real surprise to Sarnia Police

When Sarnia Police responded to an address in the 200 block of Bright Street over the weekend, it was familiar territory.

Indeed, by the time the weekend was over, they had visited the premises twice, around 9 p.m. on Saturday and then just after midnight, the first being the result of a complaint about teenaged drinking and use of marijuana in the back yard.

In the first visit, a 20-year-old Sarnia man was seen holding a bag of marijuana with his 49-year-old father in the backseat. Also seen was a weigh scale as well as cash. Some 29 grams of marijuana were seized an both men were arrested as was a third man, a 19 year old.

All face various drug related charges, with the 19-year-old’s charges including trafficking.

The subsequent police visit, prompted after noise complaints, resulted in one youth threatening officers before being handcuffed.

In that incident, a 45-year-old man identified as the home owner, was charged with mischief and arrested. He was awaiting bail as of Monday.

Police say they have made numerous prior visits to the home for similar complaints.
