Two drug-related search warrants on Friday result in arrests

Sarnia Police Vice Branch was busy on Friday, February 1, 2013, executing two Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrants in the city. 

The first warrant was in the 700 block of North Indian Road around 2:30 p.m., when police arrested two individuals inside and seized a quantity of marijuana after discovering a small but sophisticated “grow op” in the basement. 

A 24-year-old Sarnia woman was later released on a Promise to Appear.  She faces possession charges for the purpose of trafficking for both marijuana and hydromorphone. The second individualo, a 34-year-old Sarnia man, faces charges of possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking as well as charges related to a breach of probation and breach of recognizance.

Police say they seized about 96 grams of marijuana and 16 plants.

About 12 hours after the first search warrant, police executed another warrant on Richard Street. There, police found cocaine and methamphetamine and have charged a 52-year-old Sarnia man.
