Two men, one from Sarnia and the other from Chatham, have both been charged with impaired driving-related offences following an incident in the area of Harbour Road near the Sarnia Marina just before 6:30 on Friday evening.
Police say a citizen called them to report a hit and run with a parked car.
Subsequently, the suspect vehicle was stopped by officers at London Road and Christina Street, at which time, according to police, it mounted the curb.
The driver was arrested and taken to Police Headquarters where he refused to provide a breath sample.
After more investigation, police arrested the second man and also charged him with impaired driving when witness told police the second suspect was indeed the driver of the vehicle and the two had switched positions after the accident.
The second man also refused to provide a breath sample.
Both men have been released and will appear in court at a later date.
