Two more charges in recent metal thefts

Sarnia Police said that two more people have been charged in relation to the theft of metals from two different Sarnia businesses in June.

A 24-year-old woman and a 36-year-old man, both from Sarnia, were arrested yesterday and jointly charged with Possession of Stolen Property Under $5,000 and Fraud Under $5,000 in relation to theft of metals from two different Sarnia businesses.

The stolen property included copper and brass fittings.

The woman was released on a Promise to Appear and will make her first court appearance Aug. 21 while the man remains in custody to await a bail hearing. He will face two additional charges; Theft Under $5,000 and Breach of Recognizance.

Two weeks ago, Sarnia Police arrested and charged two other Sarnia men, 25 and 35, in relation to their alleged involvement in metal thefts in May and June.

There are been a number of metal thefts in the past few months.
