Volunteers in Sarnia come together for TD Tree Days to help plant one million trees by 2030

Local volunteers participated in an event last week as part of a campaign to plant one million trees by 2030.

Some 150 new trees were planted by more than 40 volunteers at Mike Weir Park as part of the ninth annual TD Tree Days that took place on October 26

Throughout September and October, TD employees, their families and friends, and community volunteers, helped plant 38,000 trees across the Canadian landscape as part of TD’s larger commitment to plant one million trees by 2030.

TD’s flagship volunteer program brought together more than 10,000 volunteers at over 100 sites across North America to open doors for a more inclusive and sustainable tomorrow by protecting, preserving and enhancing green spaces across the country.

City Councillor Dave Boushy kicked off the event with volunteers planting native tree species.
