Help is needed to move more than 30 displays from the Celebration of Lights to their summer storage home at Sandrin Services on a new date two weeks from now—Saturday, Jan. 25.

Spokesperson Paula Taylor said volunteers should meet on that at the Suncor Agora in Centennial Park at 9 a.m.

Students are encouraged to bring their high school volunteer sheets to get signed.

“It usually takes until probably around noon,” said Taylor. “There will be coffee and hot chocolate and treats, but we won’t be having a lunch that day.”

The Celebration of Lights arch across Front Street was taken down earlier this week.

The 35th annual event lit up Centennial Park every night between November 23 and January 1.

Security guards from Hughes Intelligence stepped up to protect the displays after they were targeted by vandals in early December.
