Walpole Island man arrested for attack on Wallaceburg cabbie

Walpole Island Police with the assistance of Lambton OPP have arrested a Walpole Island man, 25-year-old Morris Lee Kiyoshk in connection with a July 8, 2012 attack on a Wallaceburg cab driver.

Kiyoshk was arrested Monday morning at Sarnia Jail, where he was in custody on unrelated criminal matters.

He is now facing charges of attempted murder, kidnapping, robbery, aggravated assault, forcible confinement and failure to comply with four probation orders.

The victim in the case, 69-year-old John Chatel was found in his cab on Squirrel Island with life threatening injuries. He has since been released from hospital and is recovering at home.
