SPOTLIGHT, WITH J.D. BOOTH

Will Anne Marie Gillis put her name forward in municipal elections this fall?

The real question may be which office she decides to seek

This will be a busy year from the perspective of the voting public, first in June with the provincial election, then later when local voters head to the polls for municipal elections on Oct. 22.

it’s that last day that Anne Marie Gillis may be thinking about more than the first, although the current City/County Councillor and former Catholic School Trustee has also been a candidate for MPP, running unsuccessfully as a Liberal in 2014.

This year, however, Gillis says she hasn’t made a firm decision for what municipal position she’ll run (if at all).

Still, while she talks with the energy and vision of someone who may have achieved at least a couple of goals she set out for herself, there’s at least a hint of more to come.

And don’t forget that as a trustee and City Councillor she is used to being the top vote getter when she sets her mind to it.
The question this year: can we look forward to a different sort of contest for Anne Marie Gillis?

We shall see. In the meantime, enjoy the conversation with Lambton Shield editor J.D. Booth. And please share with your friends!
