Winners of ‘Business Boost Bundle’ announced by SLBDC

The Health Creation Lab takes first year honours

A first of its kind competition organized by the Sarnia Lambton Business Development Corporation has a winner, with the judging of finalists conducted through a Facebook event held on May 27, 2020.

The overall winner was The Health Creation Lab, which also won the “People’s Choice Award.”

Owners Mason Bresett and Chelsea Dakers will a package that includes:

—retail or office space for a year (sponsored by the SLBDC);
—$5,000 toward leasehold improvement costs (sponsored by Southwest Regional Credit Union);
—$2,500 towards interior and exterior signage (sponsored by CR Creative Co. Ltd.);
—One year business counselling services provided by SLBDC;
—One year business banking account from Southwest Regional Credit Union; and
—One year membership in the Sarnia-Lambton Chamber of Commerce.

Each of the finalists in the Business Boost Bundle was given five minutes to pitch their ideas in front of a live judging panel, with the opportunity for a Question and Answer session following each presentation.

The finalists included Hotshot Hobbies, Wackyjacks Indoor Play, Daisy Fox Bakery, and The Health Creation Lab.

Judges in the competition included Glenn Wilson, CEO of Southwest Regional Credit Union; Janice McMichael-Dennis, CEO of Bluewater Power; Martin Vrolykm owner of Martin Vrolyk Marketing; and Patti-Jo Pumple, co-owner of One Tooth Sarnia.
