Woman arrested, held after being stopped in stolen pick-up truck

Sarnia Police say they arrested and continue to hold an 18-year-old Walpole Island woman they say was driving a stolen pick-up truck around 10 a.m. Wednesday morning (August 8) in the area of Confederation and Mitton Streets.

The truck, with personalized Michigan plates, was reported stolen Tuesday from the area of George and Christina Streets, say police.

Initial failed attempts to stop the truck, once spotted, resulted in the woman facing numerous charges, including Dangerous Driving, Fail to Stop for Police, Breach of Recognizance, and Stolen Property.

The woman will go for a bail hearing later today (Wednesday).
