Woman charged with damaging police cruiser

Sarnia Police say they apprehended and charged a 17-year-old Sarnia woman with causing damage to a police cruiser over the weekend.

The woman, who was first seen running through a parking lot in the area of Wellington St. and Mitton on Sunday, Dec. 2 just before 11 p.m., is alleged to have thrown an object at the officer's car, breaking the windshield and causing the cruiser to strike a fence, further damaging the vehicle.

The officer driving was able to seek backup assistance and the suspect was arrested.

She faces a charge of mischief over $5,000 and endangering life.
