Peacefully, surrounded by loving family, on Monday, February 12, 2018, at Trillium Villa Nursing Home, Lavern Wray passed away at the age of 93. Beloved husband of Virginia. Loving father of Bob (Lee) Wray, Bill (Heather) Wray, Susan (Len) Lampert, Beth (Brad) Gray, and Tim (Susan) Wray. Cherished grandfather of Melissa (Carlisle), Julie, Tyler (Katherine), Kurtis (Teraze), Kate (Scott), Mark (Ashley), Peter (Melanie), Amanda (Bob), Christine (Matt), Michael (Natasha), Allison (Brian), and 16 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his sister Mabel Hayes. Lavern was a longtime volunteer at the Lambton United Church Centre. He was an active member at St. Lukes United Church, the OFA, Lambton Farm Safety Association, and the Steam Thresher Association. Lavern was a lifelong farmer in Moore Township and served on the Moore Township Council. He will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Family and friends will be received at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line, Sarnia on Monday, February 19, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. A celebration of Lavern’s life will be held at Smith Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Cremation has taken place.
