Nail Yakupov, selected first overall by the Edmonton Oilers in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft, along with Sarnia Sting teammate Alex Galchenyuk, who was selected third overall by the Montreal Canadiens, have made their OHL team proud.
Sting Head GM and Head Coach Jacques Beaulieu says: "Nail is one of the most offensively skilled players I have ever coached. He is a game breaker who will bring the crowd out of their seat at any given time."
Galchenyuk said he is looking forward to his first season as a Montreal Canadien.
"I knew what kind of skill I have, what kind of player I am," said Galchenyuk. "I'm just going to keep working hard. I played a couple of games at the end of the year and showed what I am capable of doing, I went to the combine and showed them my knee is no concern and there are going to be no issues."
