YMCA presents its 2018 ‘Celebration of Youth’ awards

19 unique individuals in our community each received $1,000 award as part of program now in its 20th year

The Sarnia-Lambton YMCA has recognized 19 local youth who demonstrate sensitivity to others, innovation, academic responsibility, development of personal talents, and give back to their community in practical ways through the YMCA Celebration of Youth Awards.

Each of the young people so honoured has received a $1,000 award as part of the program, which culminated in a presentation at P.E. McGibbon School in Sarnia on Wednesday evening.

The goal of the awards is to help students as they strive toward a better, healthier future and is supported by sponsors and community partners.

A similar program takes place in Chatham-Kent on May 23, 2018 and Goderich-Huron on April 28, 2018. More than 45 deserving students in total will be recognized.
